At the 2022 Corporate Jet Investor Dubai conference, ArcosJet’s Mehrzad Sepasi, Vice President, Sales and Business Development, and Ivan Veretennikov, Director, Sales and Marketing, spoke about the state of the preowned business aircraft market, the future of the current sales boom, and about the limitations and possibilities that buyers are facing when shopping for Russian-owned business jets.

“The demand remains very high, while the number of aircraft on sale is at a record low. With an estimated 4% of the entire active fleet being listed for sale now, average prices on some newer models have risen 20−30% from where they were early in 2021. However, with prices standing this high, we are observing a slight reduction in buyer activity,” Mehrzad Sepasi said in a panel discussion devoted to the sales boom on the preowned business jet market.

Mr. Sepasi also noted that relatively new aircraft are in especially high demand, mostly selling off-market.

“We expected prices and supply to be affected much quicker and more dramatically after restrictions placed on Russian-owned aircraft, but surprisingly the number of planes coming out of Russia has been quite small, and with the extremely strong demand globally it hasn’t yet pushed prices down,” Ivan Veretennikov noted in his speech on the effect of the Ukrainian crisis on the market.

Speaking to the audience, Ivan drew the attention of the professional community to the fact that with the right approach, due diligence/KYC, and respect for all current restrictions and sanctions, buying Russian-owned aircraft is quite possible and legal for buyers from all over the world.
