ArcosJet Gauges Potential of Central, South America Bizjet Market

According to ArcosJet, a Dubai-based global aircraft brokerage firm, on the eve of LABACE 2023 exhibition, with a total of 2200+ aircraft, the executive jet fleet of Central and South America is the third largest in the world after North America and Europe. Brazil and Mexico are the region’s biggest markets, accounting for 75% of the total regional fleet.

The structure of the regional fleet looks like a “strong pyramid”, a shape typical of developed business aviation markets. Its basis consists of light business jets (51%), while the middle segments accounts for 35%, and the top segment takes up 14% of the fleet. In quantitative terms, the market is dominated by Cessna Aircraft (Textron Aviation) and Bombardier Aircraft, representing 32% and 24% of the region’s fleet, respectively.

“While the current economic situation in South and Central American countries is challenging, factors like the scale of the fleet, the industry’s degree of development, and the growing numbers of HNWI’s allow us to see the growth potential of the regional market as high. We expect the local business jet fleet to grow steadily and see great potential in advancing on the local pre-owned aircraft market,” says Mikhail Alenkin, ArcosJet founder and CEO.

The top segment of the local fleet, which is key for ArcosJet and includes long-range and large business jets and business liners, is dominated by Gulfstream (over 140 aircraft), Bombardier (80+), and Dassault (ca. 50). The shares of long-range and large business jets are nearly similar, with a slight edge in favor of long-range aircraft. Together, the two types account for 13% of the entire fleet in the region.

Traditionally, ArcosJet representatives visit LABACE, the region’s key industry exhibition, to meet with their partners and clients from Central and South American countries. This year, the exhibition is taking place August 8-10, in São Paulo, Brazil.

ArcosJet constantly monitors the current trends of the business jet market, making key findings available to the public. The company is confident that this helps foster a friendly, transparent, and customer-oriented environment in the business aviation industry.
